Archive-wide insight
Build a clearer picture of large audio collections through scanning, metadata analysis, and relationships between files.
In active development
AudioCanon is an intelligent desktop archive system designed to help collectors understand, organize, and trust the music libraries they have spent years building.
Purpose
Your archive is more than a folder of files. It is a body of knowledge—editions, sources, alternate versions, careful tags, and years of decisions.
AudioCanon is being built to make complex audio libraries more legible. It will examine files and metadata, identify useful relationships, and help reveal duplicates or inconsistencies that are difficult to see by hand.
The system is intended to support judgment, not replace it. Recommendations will be transparent, uncertainty will be acknowledged, and changes will remain under the collector’s control.
Core principles
A set of working principles guiding every part of the application.
Build a clearer picture of large audio collections through scanning, metadata analysis, and relationships between files.
Surface findings and recommendations for review. Uncertain decisions remain visible instead of being hidden behind automation.
Respect the collection you have already built. The goal is greater confidence and order—not careless, irreversible change.
Treat releases, variants, tags, and provenance as meaningful parts of the archive rather than incidental metadata.
Intended workflow
Read the archive without disturbing its structure.
Examine audio, metadata, and file relationships.
Present findings with context and confidence.
Organize the collection on your own terms.
